The National Workforce Nutrition Alliance
Bangladesh is one of the five fastest-growing economies in the world. And one in three people is employed as labourer. This highlights the important role employers can play in tackling malnutrition.
The National Workforce Nutrition Alliance in Bangladesh was launched in 2022 by the Department of Labour from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, in close collaboration with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition. National Alliances are essential for catalysing action locally and building strong partnerships for sustained impact, based on the worldwide connections that develop mutual benefits and shared learnings. In Bangladesh, the National Alliance is set to help employers ensure their employees have access to and knowledge about healthy nutrition, breastfeeding support and nutrition-focused health checks.
